travel north america united states nevada cathedral gorge
This relatively small canyon area near Panaca on the eastern border of Nevada is well worth a visit if you are in the area.
A walk through the gorge is a bit steep at the start, but, once to the bottom, levels out to a manageable "short" hike.
This was the first time I've visited a canyon like this with such beautiful rock formations that you could get so close to quite easily.
The formations in the bentonite clay are phenominal and, without any exterior reference, appear ten times their actual scale.
